Who we are - How we started - How we can help Now!

The Anaheim Visitor Center started in 1997 at a small desk in a Photo Store at Harbor and Katella. It was the idea of two tourism guys - Patrick Cleaver (who worked as a bellman at the Howard Johnson Hotel) and John Clark (who created a telephone guest service computer system).

Through the years, Patrick and John left the company and Tom Stewart and JD Shafer purchased the shares.  Tom and JD worked together for 2 years until JD left the company and became General Manager at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach.

Today, the Stewart family is all that remains (of what once was Teleguide Visitor Information Systems - the former parent company of the Visitor Center) and is now run over the internet and continues to help guests with their needs both pre and post arrival.

Tom Stewart, Brooke Stewart, Paris Stewart (their daughter) and 4 other children help with processing orders, returning e-mails or delivering tickets and vouchers to hotels throughout the Anaheim Resort.

Through a variety of challenges, the store had to be closed in March of 2008 but the excellent (award winning) service remains both online and over the phone.

Tom is a multi-year finalist in the Orange County Service Excellence Tourism Awards created and facilitated through the Orange County Tourism Council and Paris was recognized as a finalist and was actually the recipient of the Orange County Tourism Awards Service Excellence Award in 2008. Her efforts in guest service were recognized over hundreds of nominees and she made the Anaheim Visitor Center and her parents very, very proud.
